Ezekiel
Ezekiel's first vision is one he can only describe by comparison — something resembling a throne, a figure with the appearance of a man, a radiance like the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day. He fell on his face and heard a voice speaking.
Part IV of Sent Ones walks the book in four movements, in the order the notes set them: Two Great Visions — the Kingdom of Heaven, then the Valley of Dry Bones; The Fall of Satan; Last Days Prophecy; and the Earthly Kingdom finally Established.
The passages are chapter 1 and the throne, chapter 37 and the bones that come together bone to its bone, chapter 28 and the lamentation over the king of Tyre, chapters 38 and 39 and the word concerning Gog of the land of Magog, and chapters 43 and 47 — the place of My throne, and water that rises from the ankles to the knees to a river that cannot be forded.
Two New Testament passages sit alongside: 2 Corinthians 4:6, and John 7:37-38, where Jesus stood on the last day of the feast and cried out.
Read the chapters before Sunday if you can, and come with your Bible open. Scripture is NASB95 throughout.
