In this message, Pastor Mark Allen talks about The Book of Esther presents us with a powerful whisper about obedience and divine providence that echoes through the ages. While God's name isn't explicitly mentioned in Esther, His hand is evident throughout this dramatic account of deliverance. We discover that the conflict between Mordecai and Haman isn't just a personal vendetta, it's actually history repeating itself, tracing back to King Saul's incomplete obedience when God commanded him to utterly destroy the Amalekites. Saul spared King Agag, and generations later, Haman the Agagite emerges with the same murderous hatred toward God's people. This teaches us a sobering truth: partial obedience is disobedience. God doesn't ask for our sacrifices when what He really desires is our complete obedience. The spirit of Amalek rebellion against God and hatred of His people still exists today in various forms. We're challenged to recognize that secular humanism, the belief that we can determine our own morality apart from God, is essentially the same ancient rebellion. Esther's courage to stand for truth even when it could cost her everything reminds us that we too have been placed in our time and circumstances 'for such a time as this.' The question isn't whether challenges will come, but whether we'll have the courage to align ourselves with God's truth rather than the world's lies.
