Recap: God never wastes a barren season

May 11, 2026    Lisa Allen

In this week’s message recap, Pastor Lisa Allen confronts us with a profound truth: barrenness is not just about physical inability to bear children, but encompasses every season when we feel unproductive, unfruitful, and lacking. The definition expands to include those moments when we're grieving, mourning, or simply feel like we're not enough. Yet here's the beautiful paradox: we are created in God's image, and fruitfulness is literally in our DNA. From Genesis 1, we see that God blessed humanity with the command to be fruitful and multiply, but this goes far beyond biological reproduction. It speaks to our calling to bear spiritual fruit, to flourish in every season, and to declare His praise. The message challenges us to examine what we're clinging to from our past that prevents us from stepping into the future God has prepared. Sometimes the very thing we're praying for isn't what we need. Instead, we're called to pray for the fruit of the Spirit to manifest in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The promise is clear: even in old age, we shall still bear fruit and remain fresh and flourishing. Our fruitfulness glorifies the Father, and redemption is His DNA working through us.
