Recap: Behold The King

Mar 30, 2026    Dan Lian

In this week’s message recap, Pastor Dan Lian shared a powerful reflection on Palm Sunday, inviting us to pause and truly behold the King who came in a way that defied all human expectations.

The prophecy in Matthew 21 paints a striking picture: our King arrived not on a warhorse with military might, but humbly mounted on a donkey. This wasn’t weakness it was a revolutionary display of strength that flips our understanding of power and victory.

The message challenges us to move beyond casual familiarity with God’s love and truly grasp its depth. Many of us have heard that God loves us, yet we often reduce it to a feeling that rises and falls with our

performance. But the truth revealed during Passion Week is far greater: while we were running in the opposite direction, God demonstrated the full measure of His love through the ultimate sacrifice.

As Romans 3:23 reminds us, we all fall short, yet the gift of eternal life does not come through our morality, our effort, or even our spirituality, but through Christ alone. This is not about feeling worthy or unworthy based on our recent track record. It’s about recognizing that the King made a way when we had no way to make ourselves worthy.

As we behold this King, we are invited to let this truth transform not just our understanding, but our hearts, so that our invitation to others flows from a genuine excitement about what we have truly seen and experienced.
