Recap: Jesus As God

Apr 5, 2026    Mark Allen

This powerful message takes us deep into the Gospel of John, revealing Jesus through seven profound “I Am” statements that echo God’s self-revelation to Moses at the burning bush. When God declared, “I AM WHO I AM,” He wasn’t just giving a name, He was revealing His eternal, self-existent nature.

In John’s Gospel, we see Jesus making that same claim, clearly establishing His divinity. Each declaration “I am the bread of life,” “I am the light of the world,” “I am the door,” “I am the good shepherd,” “I am the resurrection and the life,” “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” and “I am the true vine” reveals a different way Christ meets our deepest needs.

He is our sustainer, our light, our access, our guide, our source of life, and our only way to the Father.

This message reminds us that we are not sustained by our own efforts, but by the hand of God holding all things together. Without Him as our light, we remain in spiritual darkness, unable to fully grasp the truth of the Gospel.

This isn’t just theology, it’s the foundation of our faith. Salvation doesn’t come from being good enough, but from recognizing that Jesus was good enough on our behalf.
